Back in May, I took part in Spring Fling for the first time, the region’s big open studio events.  We had a lot of fun opening our doors to the public and enjoyed welcoming many people, both local and from far flung places and it was a chance for people to see my paintings hanging on the walls, take a peek into the studio, squish some hand dyed yarn and see how hand bound books are made.

So at the beginning of August, myself and fellow Spring Flingers, Jane Fraser and Linda Irving, are opening our doors once again.

We are open all day Friday 2nd August through to Sunday 4th August (10am – 5pm) and we would love to share our work and give you an insight into the lives of three very different working artists.

Linda will be exhibiting her latest felt artworks and garments and demonstrating wet felting techniques.

Jane will have her work on display in Linda’s gallery, highlighting her wood-turning and pyrography skills.

I will have recent paintings alongside a new collection of dyed yarn and silk scarves together with some new hand bound books, including unique blank flip books and maze books for watercolour and mixed media.

We will have drinks and snacks available and would love to see you there.  If I get time, I may do a little Facebook video, so even if you can’t make it, you can have a look round!

How to Find us

The Rhins of Galloway is the name for the funny handlebar shaped penninsula just west of Stranraer in southern Scotland.  You will find us on the edge of Drummore, Scotland’s most southerly village.  Linda and Jane are both at Linda’s studio, just a couple of miles further south on the road to the Mull of Galloway lighthouse.
